This eye mind tricks post deals with a simple but fail proof way to "read minds". It is a mind trick done using a deck of cards. There are two parts for it, but I will give you the second part, the part you go to if the initial trick doesn’t go as planned.

Briefly, you have told someone to think of a card and done your best to steer him to think of a particular card. What really happened during that time, is that when Dan thought the phone was ringing, Sue had already picked up as pre-briefed and started listing the value of cards Two, Three, Four, etc. When you said "Hello Sue." She stopped on the value of the card. Then she started going through the suits Spade, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs. When you said "Yes, I’m here…." She knew the suit and when Dan gets on the line can tell him his exact card.
